What is this course about?

CSU's Master of Project Management provides industry professionals with an advanced course of study in project management that is current and relevant and which prepares students for industry certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Australian Institute of Project Managers (AIPM) and Prince2.

The Master of Project Management prepares individuals to manage large and complex projects and to direct teams in project delivery, consistent with the principles laid out in the Project Management Professional certification of the Project Management Institute.

As with all our courses, the Master of Project Management is designed and delivered with study flexibility in mind. Our students choose between full-time and part-time study options so as to fit in with work and lifestyle commitments. You could choose to study just one subject in an academic session or with approval, fast-track degree completion by undertaking four subjects per session.

Workplace learning

Preparation for industry certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Australian Institute of Project Managers (AIPM) and Prince2 is included as an integral part of the course.

Flexible offering

This course is available by distance education only and is offered across a three session academic year with sessions commencing in February, July and November each year.

The Master of Project Management has a minimum full-time duration of six sessions; however, actual duration is dependent on subject availability and the session of commencement.

The Master degree, Graduate Diploma, and Graduate Certificate make up an articulated set of courses, and credit is awarded in the Master degree for subjects completed in the Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate. Credit is also awarded in the Graduate Diploma for subjects completed in the Graduate Certificate.

Students may elect to exit from the Master degree after completion of eight specified subjects and graduate with the Graduate Diploma in Project Management, or after completion of four specified subjects with the Graduate Certificate in Project Management.

Course structure

The course is delivered in each of our three teaching sessions, with sessions commencing in late February (Session 1), mid July (Session 2) and mid November (Session 3) each year. Normally a student studying part-time, taking two subjects a session, will complete the Masters course within two years. Students may also undertake one subject per session if preferred.
