Charles Sturt University Policy states students can elect to do two undergraduate subjects as part of their Masters Degree only.

Enrolment pattern

The enrolment pattern is flexible and will be developed in consultation with the Course Co-ordinator.
The 2 stipulations for the enrolment pattern are:

  • Subjects with pre-requisites will be attempted only after completing satisfactorily the pre-requisite subjects.
  • The research component may require enrolment in ASC516 or ASC 532 in two consecutive sessions. It could, however be completed within a single session by enrolling in ASC517 or ASC533.

Articulation

The Master of Animal Science program will provide an articulated set of courses incorporating a graduate diploma (64cp) and/or graduate certificate 32cp).

The intention is for graduates to obtain a discipline-specific postgraduate qualification and then progress to a Masters course with full credit for their previous postgraduate study.

All of the subjects on offer are Level 4 or above.

Professional recognition

Provision for accreditation of international students for the purpose of progression within their own institutes is envisaged. These institutes may be government, non-government or privately funded. The form that accreditation may take would need to be developed with each organisation and particularly with large organisations servicing the needs of specific industries. For example postgraduate training in animal nutrition may be an in service requirement for promotion to be an Extension Officer within the dairy industry of a developing country.
