What is this course about?

CSU's Graduate Certificate in Aged Services Management is designed to meet the needs of anyone managing or coordinating aged services.

About the course

The Graduate Certificate in Aged Services Management has a strong focus on leadership of people, aged care organisations and issues associated with ageing.

The program aims to provide students with a fundamental understanding of major aspects of the managerial role as it applies within the aged care sector.

If you do not have recent study experience, it is strongly recommended that only a single award subject be taken in the first session of enrolment and that a number of study skills subjects (non award) be utilised to develop the important academic skills for success. Please consult with the Course Coordinator in the first instance if you have any concerns about your enrolment pattern.

Course structure

Students must complete 32 points which includes 24 points of core subjects and eight points of restricted electives.

The core subjects are:

HSM404 Management of Health and Aged Care
HSM403 Profiling Aged Care Services
HSM410 Aged Care Service Policies

Restricted electives

Subjects may be chosen from the aged services management or health services management subjects listed below. Subjects should be selected following consultation with the Course Coordinator, as subject choices other than those listed may be negotiated.
