Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training

Graduation requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 192 points. The number of subjects students must complete during enrolment to make up the required points is dependent upon their prior qualification, for which a credit package is awarded upon admission to the course.

CSU's Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training course is designed to recognise the needs of TAFE teachers, and teachers or trainers in similar settings.

This course is designed to meet the needs of TAFE teachers, and teachers or trainers in similar settings such as business and community colleges, the Defence Forces, industry, and commerce and those working as private consultants. This course provides students the opportunity of 100% credit into the TAA4014 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Associate Degree in Vocational Education and Training

Overall Duration: 1.0

All students receive a standard entry credit level package of 64 subject points. This is represented as VET08C Entry Level Vocational Credit. The duration of the course in equivalent full time years is 1.0.

For students who have completed the TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment an additional standard credit package will be issued. This is represented as VET03C - Certificate IV TAA40104 /TAE40110 Credit - 24 subject points and will appear as a Forward Credit (FCR) conditional upon the successful completion of EEB321 Reflective Practice in VET (note: students must have completed the TAA40104 or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and provided a copy of their Certificate and transcript prior to enrolling in EEB321 . Actual course duration with additional credit package(FTE): 0.625


Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training

Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training

Students with qualifications and experience beyond the minimum level (a recognised technical/vocational qualification such as a trade certificate (Certificate III), advanced certificate (Certificate IV), associate diploma, diploma or the appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent, and a minimum of three years' relevant industrial experience) may be eligible for credit in some subjects. Note: A BSZ98 Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104 or TAE40110) does not count as a vocational qualification for entry purposes.

Students who do not hold a current Training and Assessment Qualification (CertIV TAA - TAA40104 or TAE40110) will complete the full program as detailed below:

Articulation

The Associate Degree in Vocational Education and Training articulates with the Bachelor of Vocational Education and Training and credit is awarded in the Bachelor degree for subjects completed in the Associate Degree.

Articulation agreements

Currently a number of TAFE Institutes are delivering the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or an upgrade program from the BSZ98 Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment. Upon completion of these awards the normal credit arrangements apply for students who are TAFE Sponsored.
